WHAT IS CBD?
Cannabidiol Oil (CBD) is one of over 85 compounds, known collectively as Phyto Cannabinoids, naturally produced in two varieties of Cannabis – Hemp (Canabis Sativa) and Marijuana (Cannabis Indica). CBD produced from Hemp offers medical benefits, is legal and non-psychoactive due to its low THC content. CBD produced from Marijuana also offers medical benefits, but due to its very high THC content it is psychoactive, having mind altering effects on the body and is illegal in many states.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
An Endocannabinoid System is shared by all vertebrate species including humans. It is made up of Endo Cannabinoids (cannabinoids produced naturally in our bodies), receptors and enzymes. Its role is to promote and maintain homeostasis, or balance, despite outside environmental changes. Its optimal functioning is vital to health and well-being.
Because Phyto Cannabinoids closely resemble Endo Cannabinoids, they are able to attach to the numerous Cannabinoid receptors located throughout all systems and organs, making their therapeutic benefits available to our bodies.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CBD?
Supplemental CBD, whether Hemp/CBD Extract or Marijuana/CBD Extract, improves the overall functioning of the Endocannabinoid System. Among other benefits, CBD is anti-inflammatory, an analgesic (pain reliever), and has anti-spasmodic properties effective in treating epilepsy and seizures. It can enhance circulation and promotes cell regeneration. It’s been shown to alleviate stress, calm anxiety and alter mood. It can be introduced into the body in many forms.
